This hanging sculpture is inspired by a grass species, Dactylis glomerata.

In 2020, the lockdown and its new regulations had given our daily walk a whole new feel, limiting it to a 1-kilometer radius around the studio. Our senses were jolted, and our perceptions sharpened.

When space grows tight, every detail takes on greater significance.
This rare and unassuming grass, found along the path, gradually took center stage until it became an obsession.

We had collected it, dried it, and examined it over the course of several months.

Then came the idea of hanging it up, of raising it higher, so that it could continue to interact with the light and express itself in the wind.

D A C T Y L E, a hanging sculpture, was born.
